Good afternoon lovely people! I am terribly sorry for the delay, I promised you one post every single week but apparently my laptop just got infected by ransomware virus so I cannot use it for anything. But now let's begin our Blue Mental Health Bullet Journal The Series journey with a Mood Tracker. For those who might have never heard of it, I think it is very obvious from the name Mood Tracker, it's one of the most popular spread in bullet journal that we use to track our daily moods, or emotions, or feelings. As I began to write this post I started to wonder the difference between moods, emotions, and feelings. I thought maybe this could become handy before we continue this post, shall we? So, I did a little research (read: flooring question on WhatsApp group) about the difference, and if I'm not mistaken, this is the summary;
So I don't know the origin why it started to be named with Mood Tracker in the bullet journal world, but that's how people call it now, so that's that...The diference between the three of them is the duration, and the decision which one do you want to track that represent your day is up to you. How to make the Mood Tracker is actually super simple, and kinda fun to do, maybe that's why people who might not that care about their mental health made that too. I personally have to admit when I first made it I don't think this spread has anything to do with mental health, I just made it because I think it's one of a must component on bullet journal. Right now I just found out that Mood Tracker is the easiest thing to do for you to start caring for your own mental health. Basically, you just have to make a table filled with every single dates of the month followed by moods or feelings that you want to track, most people track their happiness, sadness, anger, relax, anxious, tired, etc. In the original post by BuzzFeed, they combined the Habit Tracker and Mood Tracker on the same page so you can easily track example why are you feel tired that day oh maybe because you only sleep 5 hours that day or why are you feel angry that day maybe because you forgot to do something important. That's brilliant, too. I love the idea of how every page of bullet journal can be synchronized in order to see what's inside of you, the combination between habit and mood tracker page can also be linked to depression tracker or trigger tracker page (coming soon). Anyway, despite how the theory said about the difference between moods, emotions, or feelings, that shouldn't bother you. In bullet journal, you can make or track anything you want without anyone telling you what to do, the functionality for you that matters, if you feel good with that, just go on...The first step of everything is you have to start recognizing yourself and what you mostly feel that day. I know that we might not feel the exact same thing for 24 hours and I hope when you check that 'Sad' box you don't feel that way for all the day. Despite the simple table page, you can maybe make a Year In A Pixel like Alec done here which is very amazing, I mean like, come on, 365 days that's insane! Or...Making a diagram like this also very genius and functional for mental health (or if you regularly go to therapy) so it can easily shown when the days when you're feeling low or the opposite. But if you're feeling a lil bit artsy like me few weeks ago (Can't believe I said that haha) you can make something like this. I love my Winter Mood Tracker that I made last Christmas and want to make something as gorgeous as that for this Blue Mental Health Bullet Journal The Series, I began to search on Pinterest for inspiration and found the Mood Stars by Kitoremi, that's amazing eventough it's simple. So I want to make a cover of that page with my own style, and one of the object that you can associate with blue is probably clouds, the clouds are white but the sky is blue. And instead of checking box or color it, you have to draw a very simple faces that even a terrible painter like me can't fail it. Took a lot of time to color the sky and I'm afraid my ink will run out but it turned out beautiful.
The Mood Tracker doesn't have to stop there, if you want to, you can extend the page with explaining why you feel like that on the day, doesn't have to every single day, just what matters the most to you. I don't make it for this month, but sometimes it feels good when you can write why were you feel about something that you can't explain to your husband. I like to say this stuff to myself, you can be anything you want in your journal and you can write anything you want, you can tell everything you want if you think that no one would ever care about what's in your heart or your mind, trust me, "Your journal cares..."
