After many days been searching and searching and searching, I finally found you. Though this may not be a happy story, I just had to share it anyway. Here's my journey to got my Leuchtturm and quick review when I finally get my hands on it... First thing first, all of photo in this post are taken by myself with my iPhone 6S, edited with a Color Story app using Lite Bright filter and extra 25 of contrast with Instagram app. Due to the lighting, angle and stuffs, I think that is the best way to show the Nordic Blue color like the real one. Okay so, here's the story... Once upon a time, there's a terrible bullet journalist who lived in Indonesia and really want to have a Leuchtturm 1917 to support her not-so-creative bullet journaling activity. Too bad, Leuchtturm that have so many vibrant colors including Turqoise, Azure, Royal Blue, Navy and Nordic Blue is not available anywhere in the large of Indonesia's archipelago. So the terrible bullet journalist begin to widen her search by using online shopping, she found one on Amazon and eBay, regular price between $20 or more, still affordable, but the shipping cost is...phew, my oh my, so expensive. It's more than Rp. 600.000 for just one book. No matter how much she wants the Leuchtturm, it's still not worth every penny. Later, she decided to make her own by ordering a custom notebook in ordinary online shop in Indonesia that specialized in making notebooks. After many attempts, she can't find any single one of the books that have the same or less near quality with the Leuchtturm. The main problem is the book didn't lays flat, the dotted printing isn't straight and it drives her crazy, and when she almost begin to deal with that, the book was torn apart because the binding is glued, not stitched. Another trial, she traveled across the city to find any printing service that can make the notebook of her dreams but the price is still also very high and she can't trust the quality either. The price is double the torn apart book that she bought online. Then she gave up. Final trial, is the Compera notebook that she post on her blog few months ago. Still failed too. One day, one of her colleague was traveling to the nation where the sun rises, Japan. And she saw her Instagram post that shown sooo many Leuchtturm. She contacted her to asked for the price (just asking) but unfortunately she was late because her friend already left the place. Okay, no such luck, she thought. Few months later, she found that her colleague is traveling again, this time to Indonesia's neighbor, Malaysia. And she did that again! Another Leuchtturm. This time she immediately contacted her, and informed that the price is about Rp. 500.000. Wow. Later, after a small fight with her fiance, the terrible bullet journalist finally purchased the Leuchtturm. She can't argue anymore with the price because she's been through the searching journey and can't find one, her journey was useless. This is her only chance, she won't get it any other way. She tought. Finally in one happy day, the messenger finally brought her the Leuchtturm. Feels like a dream, but finally her search journey is over, she got the Leuchtturm on her hand. Later, after a small fight with her fiance, the terrible bullet journalist finally purchased the Leuchtturm. She can't argue anymore with the price because she's been through the searching journey and can't find one, this is her only change, she won't get it any other way. She thought so. Enough with the fairytale! Finally I got my Leuchtturm aaaaaaa so excited! Isn't she pretty...?! Wonder why I choose Nordic Blue? After a few consideration, I choose it because I already have any other (blue) colors on my planners, from light blue to navy. The only colors that left is Nordic Blue and Periwinkle, I'll get my Periwinkle on Webster's Pages Travelers Notebook...someday. But I choose the kinda pale and grunge color of blue with this Nordic. Still like it. I just accidentally deleted one big paragraph about the Leuchtturm price. My dear Lord...There's no undo function in Weebly. *sigh* So, almost forget to tell ya that my Leuchtturm is Hadcover in A5 size with Dotted paper. I like the hardcover, the elastic strap and the stickers to titled your Leuchtturm. I like everything about Leuchtturm except one thing, the paper. I thought some high quality and high priced notebook will come with thick 90 or 100 gsm paper, but this one is so thin, just like my $13 notebook from AliExpress, my writings are shown at the back page. So disappointing, that's one thing that I've never seen on every single Leuchtturm pictures that I see over the internet. That's not my pens fault, I used many kind of them and they are shown at the back except my 0.38 unistyle fit pen. Also, I know maybe no notebook can solve this problem, but the first few pages did not 100% lays flat like what I experienced with my Mery Keem. Tough the dotted points is shown perfectly without have to bump my writings (too thin on my AliExpress notebook I almost can't see it, too thick on my torn apart notebook it crashed with my writings) I hope my bullet journal journey with this Leuchtturm goes well. I still managed to distinguish my multiple planner scheme but my June set up on this Leuchtturm is alredy began. Hope to see you again on my next post, bye! Twist: I found another online shop in Indonesia that pre order Leuchtturm from Japan with price only Rp. 375.000. I already suffer enough, please don't increase my pain.
